Settling into the countryside

I am traveling with a group of about 12 other volunteers from the USA. One gentleman, George, is 86 years old and this is his 40th Earth Watch expedition! It has been fascinating to learn about other volunteer's prior travels.

After our wonderful lunch I headed into the town of Nagar with other Earth Watch volunteers. The road leading into town winds down a steep hill, and offers many picturesque views of the town and the mountains that frame the Kullu Valley where we are staying.

Today we are resting and getting acclimated to the elevation. Tomorrow the real work will begin.
Hotel Soham is where we are staying. My room has a balcony with stunning views of the Kullu Valley.
Stray cows and dogs are a common sight on the roads.

  2. Fenner's Advisory says 'Hi"! Looks awesome. Here are some questions for tomorrow's skype...
    1. How do you count bees? They seem so small and don't they fly around a lot?
    2. Have you met anyone yet?
    3. How many cows are hanging around? Why are cows roaming the streets?
    4. How was the food?
    5. Are you acclimatized yet? If so, what did you do to get used to the elevation?
    6. Have you seen any neat butterflies yet?
Please send us pictures of the temples, etc.
